Vodafone Egypt has long contributed to the development of the Egyptian telecom sector, with over EGP 35bn invested, including EGP 9bn to develop and modernize its network. Moreover, more than EGP 350m has been invested in development projects via the Vodafone Egypt Foundation. Vodafone Egypt is also one of the biggest taxpayers in Egypt, contributing more than EGP 5bn annually to the State Treasury.

Vodafone International announced today the new position of Engineer Ahmed Essam, CEO of Vodafone Egypt this being CEO European Cluster, which includes eight markets namely Ireland, Portugal, Greece, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania and Malta, as of September 1st 2016, in appreciation for his efforts and achievements on the Egyptian market and in Vodafone International.

Vodafone Egypt signed an agreement with the Commercial International Bank ?Egypt (CIB) to support mobile banking through Vodafone Cash service. Vodafone changed the operation system to the MasterCard system on a new leap to develop the interactive services with Vodafone subscribers to facilitate their financial dealings.

During a press conference, Vodafone Egypt announced its plans to launch a new system for pre-paid customers called "Harakat". The new system which will offer an exclusive set of quality communication services for pre-paid customers in addition to special bulk daily and monthly call packages marks a new level of innovation for Vodafone and the sector. During the conference Noha Saad, Head of External Communications and Media and Karim Eid, Head of the Individuals Marketing Sector, at Vodafone Egypt, spoke, providing more details about the system which is designed to support the growing mobile internet and call needs of customers.

Aiming to Develop Technological Solutions; Vodafone Egypt Signs Protocol to Cooperate with Nile University

In March, Nile University celebrated the completion of a protocol with the Vodafone Foundation to support research projects and innovative initiatives in the field of technology and communications for Masters students working on their graduation projects. The cooperation will focus on supporting graduation projects that aim to provide solutions for the present day challenges that society faces. Projects will work to overcome these challenges by utilizing new technology in the communications sector in Egypt.

On the 9th of March; Women's International Day, the Egyptian Junior Businessmen Association organized their second annual conference in recognition of women in Egypt and the Arab world as part of their celebration of women on Women's International Day.
